Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia


Arriving in Belgrade at the beginning of January 2015 to take on the post of Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia and concurrently to the Republic of Montenegro, Harry R. J. Kandou presented his credentials to the President of Serbia on 4th March 2015.

Before taking on this role, he was the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indonesian Embassy in London between 2012 and 2014.

He was the Director of Protocol at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia prior to this post.

A career diplomat, he works on bilateral and multilateral collaborations. He was stationed in New York, Switzerland and Nairobi where he was involved in various United Nations programmes focusing on environment and human settlement. He was also involved in the Regional partnership of ASEAN.

Harry graduated from Faculty of Law at Sam Ratulangi University, Indonesia in 1985, and attended Post Graduate Programme on International Law and Organization for Development at Institute of Social Studies in Den Haag, the Netherlands (1989-1990).

He is married to Miabella S. Kandou and they have four children: two daughters and twin sons.
